Reagan / Mondale Debate:

"I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience."

Obama's reliance on others talking points is "Breathtaking"!

Just don't ask him to be specific on "ANYTHING".

This is a perfect "piece" for a college humor section - for the right. For Newsvine, it's hollow and rhetorical. And speaking of specifics, where is the GOP going to make cuts to "save the economy". They've shown they have no answers :) - and it's been the GOP's downfall since the elections.

Secondly, for this individual "greg" to write a piece with no specifics himself to back up any premise he might have, defines the word ironic.

Your "I think you mean "Iconic" line again doesn't give specifics to back up your tiny piece here. And your second line about changing subjects, again, where are the specific cuts the GOP promised to improve our economy, Greg? Your answers to me reflect perfectly the hollow nature of your piece.

The author of this piece gets on Obama for not giving specifics while providing no specifics of what he's actually talking about, while forgetting the GOP's great downfall - their inability to be specific as a whole. Here's a list I thought I'd provide:

House Republicans Can't Name One Item They Would Cut From The Budget -

http://freakoutnation.com/2011/01/06/house-republicans-cant-name-one-item-they-would-cut/

and

Republicans Want to Cut Federal Spending But Have no Idea What Programs to Cut -

http://thinkprogress.org/2010/09/17/republicans-spending-cuts

From the piece -

Yesterday on ABC's Top Line, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) offered an example of the GOP's obfuscation. Calling for extending all the Bush tax cuts, Gregg said, "The issue right now is the profligate spending of this Congress and this Presidency." But when Gregg was asked for specific cuts, he couldn't offer any:

Similarly, CNBC host Larry Kudlow asked GOP U.S. Senate candidate in California Carly Fiornia what she would cut. All she could muster was bringing spending back to 2008 levels. Another CNBC host asked Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) last month what he would cut. "We've got spending to cut in the short term what we've got is a huge problem in the long term," said Cantor, who repeatedly couldn't give an answer on what he would cut when pressed by the host.

And in March, ThinkProgress asked Rep. John Boozman (R-AR) repeatedly what he would cut in order to reduce federal spending and he couldn't identify any specifics. Watch the video compilation:

and

The Republican Solution: Have No Answers -

http://www.capecodtoday.com/blogs/index.php/2010/07/24/the-republican-solution-have-no-answers?blog=260

From the piece -

A week ago I watched as a news commentator tried his best to get some answers from a group of the nation's most powerful republicans. His question was simple and went something like this: What program would you cut to ease the burden on the budget? No answer. He asked again. Some of the republicans tried to change the subject. He asked a third time. Silence, followed by some babbling about the deficit - then more silence.

Put simply, these republicans either had no idea what they would do if they regained power or simply didn't want to talk about it on live television.

lol Robert, I hope you loved the pictures people put up of George Bush during the last decade. At a point - on both sides of the aisle - it can become a mishmash of immaturity and political machinations for different reasons; some of it fun, some pointless. In the end, it's often hard to tell what is learned and what simply closes off real dialogue. I love free speech, so I'm all for this, but I also counter it with my opinions. It's part of the game we all play.

You try to go at me for saying Obama has no specifics, yet you don't give us any of his specifics. Only give us "The Other Guy" deflection. Liberals, Geeez!

Try sticking with the subject Mike!

Obama is a talking points machine, period.

Ask him how the, say, Health bill works. Of course, you'll have to tap him on the shoulder for a while to get him away from that Blank stare after you ask him the question.

I didn't like them that much, but I could see some chuckles in some of them and just think that what is good for the goose is good for the gander and that I don't hate these pictures and they made me chuckle.

A chuckle is important in these dire times we face.

I agree with your view of dialogue and debate and think some take themselves a little too seriously on these threads some times.

Sometimes it is just about a chuckle

You posted this article as a satire of Obama . Something like might be seen in Mad Magazine .
I have no problems with that . Obama has not prov-en himself .
In the second comment #1.1 you posted a link . A You Tube link about President Ronald Wilson Reagan .
I must Thank You for doing so . I was very moved be what I saw and heard in these video's
I must of spent over 3/4 of a hour sitting here viewing over 10 video's of President Reagan .

A very good reminder of what he accomplished . A good reminder of words he said . A good reminder he had a true relationship with God . A good reminder of the fact he had a heart and a set of brass ones .
He had to have had a set of brass ones , to say "Tear Down That Wall ".

It's to bad Obama doesn't have the wisdom to learn from President Reagan .

I never knew what Clinton did during his time in office . I'm sure someone will come along and tell use what Clinton did . While your at it , tell something your proud Obama has done ? We've got less than two years now . Two years from now , I hope we can start breathing again .

I know. When people start talking about how good things were when Clinton was in office, I ask them what exactly he did to make the budget so good in such a short amount of time, lol. Of course no one ever has a viable answer. The fact is, "trickle down" takes a few years to work, and it set in right about the time Clinton was in office. From Bush Sr. on, things have pretty much gone to hell IMHO.

I fear , unless we find someone like Reagan again , our nation is lost . If our nation falls , the world will fall right behind us . The warning signs have been written about failure since Roman times . Our founding fathers wrote many warning signs , for our form of government . President Reagan spoke of those warnings . Of bowing down to a few and not standing up for all our people .

This article was suppose to be about a funny picture of Obama . To give every body something to laugh at . Sorry , I don't feel like laughing .

I want to see a picture of a face , to hear a voice , of someone we can all back up .
If they have to promise change . I want to hear what that change is going to be made , long before they get in office . Change for the good of all , not just a few .

No, no , I don't want every one to think like me . I just want people to think .
Then as someone coming through the ranks of the political machine knew only the best of the best would be elected . That they have to answer to the nation not just a few fat cats .
President Reagan made you feel that each of the citizens were equal .
Obama doesn't make me feel that way . How does he make you feel ?

Hi Greg. Interesting article... lol. Let's be honest about Regan switched parties though. He flopped over in 1964 when the Democrats imbraced civil rights. I myself would like the Republican party to be more Goldwater like than Regan like.

By the 1980s, the increasing influence of the Christian right on the Republican Party so conflicted with Goldwater's libertarian views that he became a vocal opponent of the religious right on issues such as gay rights and the role of religion in public life.[4]

This comment proves to me that liberalism really is a mental state. Liberals appear to be miserable people who wish to make as many as can be made miserable simply so they can have plenty of company in their misery. Piffle. Every President in our history has been made fun of or drawn in caricature, every one. Hell if that was my pic up there I would find it amusing.
