1.   It wasn't "I'm in a mood" Charles".

2.  The couple came across more like everyday folks than royalty.

3.  The fly over of the Lancaster, Spitfire and the Hurricane from WWII.  Seems to signify England can withstand anything.

4.  The queen actually seemed to enjoy this wedding.

5.  Great to see Brothers talking to each other.

6.  The Brothers actually talked to people at the wedding.

I agree! One thing I really liked? For a Catholic wedding, relatively short!

The groom's choice not to wear a wedding band--very modern and his bride getting a plain wedding band? Even more modern!

Posh & Becks were the smartest dressed people there--aside from the royal couple. Everyone else seemed to take the ocasion to look rather costumey... It was an incredibly pricey wedding--I'm shocked more people didn't take the opportunity to look less, well, clownish...

The dress, pretty, but very understated--not quite what I expected.

That's for sure. Been there, done that. Tired!

Posh and Kate always looks good. It's a guy thing.

It was Church of England, not Catholic-- The Queen is known as The Defender of the Faith, a royal title since England officially left Catholicism under Henry VIII.

I think it was beautiful and understated. Lovely wedding!

Kmj, you are correct (who's surprised at that, lol?) It is the Church of England. It looks Catholic because it once was. William will head this church when King, no?

Yes... William will be head of the Church and Defender of the Faith... Henry VIII won the title form the Pope after writing an answer to Martin Luther's 98 Thesis, at the beginning of his reign. He was excommunicated when he divorced Catherine of Aragon and married Anne Bolyen.

crap... historian escaped again...

I'm with you pockets. I woke up in a bad mood when I saw my tivo'ed red eye was instead wedding coverage and my backup, local news, was more wedding coverage! We kicked this same family out over 200 years ago and they take over my news today. That is the real tragedy.

As for the queen, she sure looked bright. Reminded me of a certain beloved sesame street character.

On a side note, was it just me or does anyone else think that the bride was wayyyyyyy out of the young prince's league, title notwithstanding.

Question. What was he saluting every now and again as they made their trek in the carriage?

On the occasion that Kate also bowed her head, William was saluting the Cenotaph (sp? I always seem to get it wrong), which is a lg memorial honoring the dead from British wars. Other salutes were when they passed by military outfits (who do you think was playing the outdoor music along the route &/or looking sharp on horseback?). William is a flight lieutenant in the Royal Air Force, tho he chose for some inexplicable reason to wear his ceremonial colonel of the Irish Guards uniform in which to be married instead of his cadet blue RAF dress uniform. I'm guessing b/c the red jacket was prettier?

That slab in the middle of the red carpet that everyone had to go around as they went up the aisle at Westminster Abbey is the Grave of the Unknown Warrior (in many old English churches & chapels there are "undercrypts" where ppl are buried). The Queen Mum started the tradition of royal brides sending their bouquets back there to adorn the grave. Kate's was sent over on a white satin pillow as soon as they were done on the balcony, as that was the last formal public appearance.

scar_tissue -- cause the red tunic looked spiffy?? C'mon... admit it... it DID look pretty damned spiffy... and with all the braid and other frou-frou that everyone else was wearing, it was pretty plain... And he has the right to about 8(?) different uniforms... He changed into the RAF uniform when they left Buckingham for Clarence House, in the Aston Martin...

Well, let's not blame Charles for everything, shall we? Genetically, baldness runs thru the maternal line, & Diana's father had a fairly good Friar Tuck thing going on when he walked her down the aisle at St Paul's. If you want to know the odds of your sons going bald, look to their mother's father. The next generation of wee Windsors, if Will & Kate breed, should boast full heads of hair, judging by Michael Middleton's.

Harry's starting to get a little thin on top himself, I noticed, so he'd best joke about it while he can.

YES!! Can we bring wearing hats back into fashion? Except that weird one Prince Andrew's daughter wore...I don't even know how to describe the modern art curve thing on her head!

It was goofy but heck beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. A tan cap with a round loop approximately 6 inches high topped with a bow; that is how I saw it. I would love to see hats come back into fashion; I have always had a passion for hats.

President Obama didn't have to be invited -- William isn't next in line to the throne, therefore the wedding isn't a State occasion.

Well yea I have heard the phrase but never mini feather. Sort of like saying half a hole has been dug.

Good news about Bin Laden eh? I put up a short piece frankly sending a message. I am truly glad, though troubled. I just have 0 trust in anything Washington. Not a lot more trust for our current CIC.

                              Definitely good news for sure.

I'm worried about what the nutbags will do as payback.
