Un-believeable !!!!!!!

Now we know this man is definitely OUT OF TOUCH with "The People".

First, he gets trounced by Boehner on holding his Repeat Speech during the Republican debates, and now, since he's pissed at getting trounced at that, he's gonna make us suffer by speechifying his revamped 2009 speech, on the day most Americans are looking forward too.

THE START OF THE FOOTBALL SEASON !!!

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

TALK ABOUT OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

Silly Mary,

The Broncos aren't a truck they're an SUV! Actually they're our football team and in the last game the quarterback hit the puck out of the stadium for a field goal. And then, on the next play, he was fouled and sunk a thirty foot putt for birdie! IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

Relax, football fans. President Obama's jobs speech next Thursday will wrap up long before the NFL season opener begins.

The White House and congressional Republicans have agreed on a 7 p.m. address to a joint session of Congress. The Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints don't play until 8:30 p.m.

Lets face facts:

One) We do not need Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. The game is not that good has not been for quite some time.

Two) We do not need another "Hey I am just the president here can't do this all by myself" speeches on any @!$%#ing night. Christ in a side car spare me another "We Are the Champions" playing. Frankly we no longer have the infra-structure to create manufactoring jobs, there are already a glut of money movers, and the service industry can only employ so many before they run out of hot apple pies.

Three) We cannot as a nation afford to have the entire @!$%#ing field of talking heads and radio and TV dumb @!$%#s simultaneously unemployed. We would have to relocate to another planet.

So any way ya look at it, we lose.

Go Budweiser beat Miller Lite!!!

I've watched the first two, and really? No need for spin with some of the things that have come out of a few mouths...Gingrich, especially!!

But, I figure this one will be interesting, see if Romney leans more towards the TP, if Perry shows his true colors, if Santorum drops out right afterwards and if Bachmann is asked (once again) about Palin.

Karma from that call cost the Pats the perfect season. I even felt a little bad for them on that SB. Just a little. But you got to admit; that was one heck of a pass and catch. But the side effect of such a crazy play is you will have to look at it the rest of your life.

I suffered hard from that one, two, three punch in the snow. First a punch to the gut from the "tuck", then a cross from the impossible in the snow kick to OT, then the knockout upper cut from the impossible kick in OT. Turned the TV off and went into hermit mode for three days. A little piece of me died that day. For people that say "Its only a game" ..... well ... well ... tell my therapist that !

I was going to remark on the disrespect shown by Boehner to the President. Then my remark was going to be about the complete and utter ignorance of some of the American people crying about jobs but not when news comes while they are watching a football game.

Then I realized this article was satire.

We can't get cable on the farm Greg, it stops 4 miles down the road. I was lucky to get one company to put up a satillite for our internet service. It is our only expense we can afford right now. I do miss getting together with friends to watch a Steeler game.

LibY2K, I have 28 horses right now, you want to buy one cheap? :) I have never been hurt by a horse but one of our heifers stomped me good two years ago, two broken ribs and a bruised kidney. It took a year before I felt no pain from the kidney shot. Of course she is gone, she was made into hamburger somewhere. LOL

Libertarian, I have the same problem with my husband, he keeps telling me about these "great deals" on horses in our area, he's wanted everything from a two week old APHA filly for $3 grand to a 20 year old rescue "free to a good home".

Two of us, two horses, can't ride more than one at a time, just enough pasture for two...I rest my case.

Never used to have a problem with the Yankees until they started buying out all the good A's. For a time there it seemed that the A's were the farm club for the Yankees. Don't know how any team can keep up with the big boys in baseball anymore. And the Yankees are the biggest spenders. I think that is one reason that football over took baseball. They have a cap and strive for parity. In baseball you already know who most of the teams that will be in the playoffs are before game one really.

Not a tough choice.

The crux of his speech will be dissected on the web and on TV for days. One side will treat it like the voice of God, while the other will react like they heard the voice of Satan. Nothing new there.

But Football is Football. I miss it so much when the season ends.

BTW, go Cowboys! (For the season, not on Thursday, LOL)

i am truly sorry, but when I see a football stadium, built with tax subsidies or tax forgiveness, and then I turn around and see a hospital that was not built, a school that was not built, a child that was not fed, a museum that was not built, a disease that was not researched, a young adult that does not get to go to college, i cannot help but think our priorities are all out of whack. Big time.

If people want to do this with their own money, then let the owners pay for the stadium WITHOUT any taxpayer help. there are way too many important things we need to spend money and give tax breaks to than football, baseball, basketball, anything of that sort.

THAT is government waste at is most callous.

I would likely die of heart failure if i ever heard the general public have a rally in favor of a new museum or orchestra hall. Or if a cancer researcher were ever held up as a hero, instead of one of these ball throwing circus acts.

Five years from now, what difference will it make who through what sphere in to what location? Five years from now, that same money could have been used to cure some illness.

Again, we have whacked priorities.

I completely agree, Jeff.

I'm always a little confused when people I know who turn on the nightly news for the sole purpose of seeing the sports highlights also complain when the same news show features a bit of celebrity gossip. Aren't sports highlights basically the same thing: a bunch of people who are famous for no really good reason doing stuff that doesn't really matter?

That said, I won't be watching either, though I would watch ANY president's speech before I would watch a sporting event.

I feel sorry for Payton Manning having to play all of those years for a few paultry million. Must have been a real nightmare dragging himself to work every day playing a sport that most of us do for free.

Ok, all sarcastic remarks aside. If the Colts want to pay him that much- then more power to him. I do feel sorry for the fans- the team will need to make up the difference somewhere. I wonder how much more they will have to charge for tickets, jerseys, etc?

I can understand what the Colts fans are feeling. I almost quit the Steelers Nation after what they inked Big Ben for. I am glad I didn't. Seems that Ben's contract is very modest by comparison. (I just wish he was as well.)

And yet, a sports venue of any type employs a myriad of people and generates a huge amount of tax revenue. I don't feel sorry for any pro athelete that is unhappy with their salary, but neither will I begrudge them what they earn. BTW, they all have agents that make a living off these atheletes and they have people working for them in support positions that all have jobs and all these people are also generating tax revenue.

I'm not saying that a sports venue is more important than a hospital, but they do employee and or affect a huge amount of people and their income. Worthy of some thought rather than scatching the surface and turning up one's nose.

You guys don't want to listen to another speech but don't mind listen to the GOP/Teabaggers keep saying "NO" to every idea to start jobs in this country......2010 election promised jobs from GOP...there are none..!!!

Just keep following these losers...they do not care about you, your jobs, your football, your kids school, the food on your table...all they care about is getting rid of the BLACK man in the WHITE house...bigots all of them...They have said that from day one and they still believe it as they stop every plan he has to put people to work.

Conservatives are religious, really religious, more than you think...and with the money from the Koch Bros they will really take over this country...

Their religion is not everyones religion...but they want it to be...Jesus is everything to them....women's rights mean nothing to them...voting rights mean nothing to them...Look up the word...."Dominionism" that is what you will get with the GOP/Teaparty....Perry has said as much.

**Yawn** Progressives need to come up with some new material. After two years this is getting stale.

If the GOP or the Tea Party is giving a speech on opening day I will still be watching football. We have a year and and three months to listen to this crap. But only one opening day in that time. If you taped Obama's last few speeches just watch them again; it will be the same. Enjoy some football and save your energy for the coming election. You will need it :)

Not bad, I give it a B+ But next time throw something in about enslaving the poor and whoring out to corporations. And mention something being the fault of Bush. Lost points for no mention of "Fascists". Nice use of Dominionism though. Gave you extra credit for being on top of the latest talking point. Pretty good effort but you can do better.

Gave you extra credit for being on top of the latest talking point.

Now that's the type of pile of crap response we expect from the Teabaggers. Totally vapid and laughable. Talking points? No, those are the realities of what you have become (or rather always have been). Corporate shills living in trailer parks. Propping up the top hoping some of what they got will trickle down to you.

And how can you seriously blame anything on Bush? Anyone with any sense knows he had next to nothing to do with either foreign or domestic policy during his 8 years. His name is but a symbol. But this new version of GOP/TP suffers from much deeper in-breeding. They follow Limbaugh far more than any elected official. They have been taught that logic and fact are poison and to be avoided at all cost. In fact thinking itself is bad. Bachmann says essentially that when she is on the stump. She might as well be selling the idea of frontal lobotomies for all.

All problems are simple and require only simplistic solutions, it is the overuse of the application of thought that has supposedly brought us to this place (/s). Intellectualism run wild! That is of course idiocy but the repetitive way it is taught implants this as the truth (realize that the average Limbaugh listener is absorbing several hundred hours of his BS a year). And of course there has to be someone to blame for all of our ills and so by default that is now Obama and anyone of the liberal persuasion. That is just the usual petty politics but it keeps us from dealing with the real issues (which we cannot even agree on anymore).

As for talking point I get both the GOP and Dem versions via email several times a week. But the GOP generates far more of these and they are far more vicious. And they have also proven to be far more untrue. Check any fact check site you like.

I just found a way to stop the left from blaming Bush all the time. If the GOP would start blaming Bush then progressives would defend him :)

I don't doubt that Libertarians sound like the far right to most progressives in this neighborhood. They are so far out in left field anyone, even a moderate or blue dog dem would sound far right wing to them.

But they do have a reason to not like libertarians. When it comes to smaller government we lead the way. And that is the polar opposite to progressive ideology. When Reagan was president I had more problems with the right then I did the left. But most of the true liberals have left the democratic party they by far are the greater evil. Progressive, socialist, tomaytoe, tomaughto. So if I have to pick between the old school GOP or the morphing into socialism Democratic party I choose niether; I choose the new republicans. At least they are talking fiscal conservativism and reading the constitution. And voting against the Patriot Act. And voting against increased taxation. And voting against increasing regulatory control of industry and society.

Infighting? Actually the GOP and Libertarians have not been closer. We will fight amoung ourselves after we remove the clear and present danger.

Changing nights was a good idea for the Pres. given the choice of watching one liar or eight liars, I would have to have gone with the eight. T.V. costs money and I want more bang for my buck, something Obama has been proven incapable of.

Thursday night score: NFL 45 Obama 19. Not everybody is a football fan.

Manning might be done for a long time. Nerves are slow healers; I know from experience. One time I had some beverages and fell asleep on the couch with my head propped up. Because my shoulder was already pissed off from my job at the time this finished it off. I had hurt a nerve. After the week of pain (and cussing without much sleep) it finally stopped hurting. I soon realised I had lost serious strength in one of my muscles. I could still lift palm down or palm up but couldn't hardly raise my arm palm sideways. Couldn't even lift a soda out of the fridge without grabbing it palm down on the top or twisting it sideways and palm up. I learned to make sure lids were on tight :) It slowly returned to normal after 3 years or so. I also went head first off a horse about 4 years ago and lost my sense of smell; I had pissed off the nerves that connect nose to brain. It is slowly getting better. To this day about half of the receptors get their signals through to the brain. Since most smells are composed of tens of thousands of receptors flicking thier "on - off" switches so your brain can say "rose" you can't imagine how stuff smells to me now. Some things are close but many are beyond describing because they absolutely smell like things I have never smelled before. I have no reference for them.

So my long winded medical auto-biography explains my experiences with nerves. I don't have access the the doctors Manning does I am sure :) But the brain and nerves are kind of unfixable no matter the doctor. Only the body can fix them sometimes. And it is through very slow regeneration.
